VPNTraffic is yet another service provider in the crowded VPN market. Launched in 2010, the service offers extremely affordable VPN plans and boasts of servers in more than 60 countries. In this unbiased VPNTraffic Review, we will check the features offered by the service and decide if it is worth our time and money.

Server Locations and Site Access

VPNTraffic has a vast network of VPN servers in 64 different countries. The choice of server locations include countries like United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Spain, Russia, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Israel, Australia, Ireland, Finland, Portugal, New Zealand, Romania, Poland, Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, Sweden, Austria, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Norway, Switzerland, Philippines, Turkey, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Brunei, Pakistan, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Kenya, South Africa, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Panama, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

The impressive choice of server locations makes it easy to unblock premium services such as MLB, Pandora, CBC, ABC, RTE, Spotify, Vudu, NHL, MTV, CWTV, HBO Go, iTV, Netflix, 4OD, RTL, Fox, Hulu, Viasat, Lovefilm, NBC, Deezer, Demand 5, USA Network, Voddler, CBS, Xfinity, Eurosport, Zattoo, Amazon Prime, CTV, Wilmaa, BBC iPlayer, Rara, Tudou, MyTV and MioTV from any location in the world. What’s more, the service offers an extremely easy way of bypassing local censorship from any country (even from China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Brazil, Thailand and UAE) and accessing popular sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk, Blogger, YouTube and Gmail from anywhere. Moreover, due to the unlimited server switching option available with every VPNTraffic plan, it is possible to unlock IP restricted content from multiple countries with one VPN subscription.

VPN Speed and Bandwidth

VPNTraffic does not impose any kind of speed or bandwidth restriction upon its subscribers. The company’s servers are connected to 100 Mbit/s nodes which makes the service ideal for streaming of movies and TV shows, downloading/uploading huge data files, VOIP as well as multiplayer online gaming. The company even allows P2P activities from its network which means that it is possible to anonymize bittorrenting sessions. However, several customers have complained about the speed and availability of certain servers so you must test the service before subscribing to a full-fledged plan.

Privacy Settings

Although the VPNTraffic service supports multiple VPN protocols like PPTP, OpenVPN, L2TP/IPSec and Cisco IPSec; certain protocols like IPSec are available only from a limited number of servers. The OpenVPN protocol is ideal for online activities that require a higher level of security (financial transactions, shopping) whereas the PPTP and L2TP protocols provide adequate security for browsing, FTP, VOIP, messaging and emailing. The service even provides security at public Wi-Fi hotspots and allows you to carry on with your day-to-day activities without worrying about losing your data to hackers or sniffers. The company does not monitor online activities of its users or sell customer data to third parties or advertisers.

Supported Operating Systems

VPNTraffic’s VPN solution works with Windows, Mac, Blackberry, iPhones, iPads, Android, Symbian, DD-WRT routers, Apple TV, Boxee Box, Symbian, Xbox, PlayStation and Wii. The company provides its own proprietary client for Windows, Mac and Android but other operating systems would need manual configuration. The company has published detailed setup instructions and video tutorials on its website so it is possible to configure the service within minutes.

Customer Support

The company offers customer support through email. This is one area where the company doesn’t fare well at all. A lot of customers have complained about the quality of customer support and many people have even commented that the company does not offer any support at all. Some subscribers have even alleged that the customer support team does not understand English since the quality of answers is downright awful. To be fair to the service provider, the company has published a lot of troubleshooting information on its portal so you might be able to solve common technical problems on your own.

Pricing Options

VPNTraffic’s plans are available from $5 a month, $10 for 3 months and $35 for a year. The company does not provide refunds but it does offer a 3 day trial for $1.99. The company accepts payments only through PayPal so it is not possible to subscribe to the service anonymously.

Final Verdict

On the whole, VPNTraffic does not provide a satisfactory VPN service. While the company offers extremely cheap VPN service and has servers in almost all major countries, the quality of VPN service and customer support is not up to the mark. Considering the operational issues associated with the service, we recommend staying away from this VPN service provider. For more information, please visit: www.VPNTraffic.com
