VPNProNet is a relatively new VPN provider in the crowded VPN market. Founded in 2009, the service is brought to you by a Czech company. In this review, we look at the features offered by the service and what makes it worth the subscription price.

Choice of Servers

VPNProNet has its only VPN server in United States. While the choice of server locations is indeed minimal, it would undoubtedly help people to unblock sites from United States that deliver content based on their visitors’ IP address. So if you are a business traveler or an expat who would like to watch your favorite TV shows abroad or unblock sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Gmail since they are blocked in many countries, VPNProNet is definitely going to help you out.

Speed Ratings

The VPNProNet service provides slow to moderate speed. This makes it un-suitable for watching streaming content, playing online games or downloading huge files. The slow speed will allow you to check e-mail, however.

Privacy Policy

VPNProNet takes your privacy very seriously. They do not keep any kind of traffic logs to monitor your internet usage; only connection logs are kept for maintenance and troubleshooting. The service uses 128 bit encryption to provide very best security and privacy so your private data is never compromised even when you are it from a public Wi-Fi spot. Additionally the service encrypts data for all the applications that connect to the internet such as VOIP, AIM, ICQ or Email in addition to securing browser traffic.

Supported Systems

The VPNProNet service supports PPTP and OpenVPN protocols. This makes it possible to use it from devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets that may be running on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android or iOS. The official website provides detailed video instructions to help you set up the VPN service on a variety of systems.

Customer Support

VPNProNet offers customer support is non-existent. While they may claim to have a sophisticated knowledgebase, the support staff  is never able to respond to your technical queries within a reasonable time. Service and support are ranked last or close to last for VPNProNet.

Pricing Options

VPNProNet is expensive. Although they provide a number of plans, they only support one location.  The unlimited plan with shared IP starts at $8 a month ($19.99 for 3 months, $29.99 for 6 months and $44.99 for a year). The time bound plan(with no bandwidth caps) start from $2.5 for 10 hours while the bandwidth bound plans start from $2.5 for 100 MB. The company also offers dedicated IP plans starting from $15 a month ($29.99 for 3 months, $49.99 for 6 months and $99.99 for a year). You can also save money while subscribing by using VPNProNet coupons. The company does not offer instant activation and it may take up to 24 hours for you to get your account details.

Final Verdict

Overall VPNProNet is not a recommended VPN service. It only has VPN service in one country, and when customer service is contacted they are unresponsive. If you are looking for a VPN choice, there are many other choics to consider.
