IPJetable VPN Review – Is The Service Worth A Look?

Wednesday, August 21st, 2013

IPJetable is brought to you by BGTN OOD which is a Sofia, Bulgaria based company. Established in 2009, the company aims to deliver a safe and anonymous VPN service to its customers. In this exhaustive IPJetable VPN Review, we will evaluate the pros and cons of the service and decide if the service is worth subscribing.

Server Locations and Site Access

IPJetable has servers at just one location – Amsterdam (Netherlands). Since the choice of server locations is extremely limited, the service cannot be used to unlock streaming websites that are available only in US, UK or Canada. However, for people who are looking for a way to circumvent local censorship and bypass firewalls, throttling and surveillance of ISPs and network administrators, the service would indeed be useful. By subscribing to the service, you would be able to unlock premium Dutch services such as Spotify, RTL, Deezer, Rara, Film1, Sport1, TVLab and MTV Netherlands from any country in the world as well as access Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, YouTube, Skype, Vonage and Google Voice from your university, organization or country like China, U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Brazil.

VPN Speed and Bandwidth

IPJetable does not throttle speed or restrict the bandwidth that is available to its users. The speed and bandwidth delivered by the service is well suited for activities such as downloading of huge sized files, making unlimited VOIP calls, torrenting, streaming tons of HD content and multiplayer online gaming.

Privacy Settings

IPJetable protects your online activities with PPTP protocol and 128 bit encryption. The service is well-suited to protect personal data like passwords, social accounts, PayPal login information, credit card numbers and bank login details flowing through unprotected wireless networks at airports, malls, public parks, libraries and coffee shops. Also, unlike proxy services, the service will protect all applications that connect to the internet including your browser, VOIP client, ICQ and other messaging clients, email applications as well as FTP clients.

IPJetable has a no data-retention policy so your online activities are totally private and anonymous. The company respects the privacy of its customers and it will not hand over your data to third parties or advertisers.

Supported Operating Systems

IPJetable’s VPN solution works with Windows (7, XP, Vista), Max OS X (10.5+), Linux (Ubuntu), iPad, iPhone, Android as well as DD-WRT routers. The company does not offer custom VPN client so you will need to configure the service manually. However, the setup process is extremely simple thanks to the step-by-step instructions available on the company’s site. The company permits two simultaneous connections for each account so it is possible to secure your computer and mobile device with one VPN subscription.

Customer Support

The company offers customer support through an email based system. Since the company’s website is in French, be prepared for some language related issues while contacting the support staff.

Pricing Options

IPJetable’s unlimited plans are available for 15 Euros per quarter. The company does not offer free trials or refunds so it is not possible to test the service without investing money. While the service is affordable, the lack of monthly subscription option is indeed a big downside.

Final Verdict

IPJetable does not provide too many options as far as server locations, VPN protocols and subscription plans are concerned. Also, while testing the service for review, we found the company’s website to be inaccessible for few hours. While the downtime could be due to an isolated incident, it does not bode well for a professional VPN provider. Considering the lack of choices, we recommend that you invest your money elsewhere.
