How You Can Watch ‘Dance Moms’ from Outside of the US

Dance Moms is a dance reality series that premiered on the Lifetime channel in July’ 2011. The series was developed by Collins Avenue Productions and stars Abby Lee Miller, a renowned dance instructor and owner of Abby Lee Dance Company, as the mentor of young dancers. Dance Moms has received a decent response from the audience and the series was even nominated for the Reality Show Award during the 2012 and 2013 editions of Teen Choice Awards. As of 2013, the series has seen 3 seasons and over 60 episodes.

Dance Moms Plot

Dance Moms is set in Pittsburgh and follows a group of young girls belonging to Abby Lee Dance Company as they participate in various dance competitions in the hope of winning the national title. The series also focuses on the mothers of the dancers as they provide encouragement to their daughters and even rival other mothers. Every week, Abby gives her feedback on the performance of the dancers through a pyramid scheme. The pyramid is not static; it changes every week and the behavior of the moms may also impact the placement of the girls on the pyramid. The series provides a fascinating insight into behind the scenes action and the highs and lows experienced by the contestants in the pursuit of the National Dance title.

Dance Moms Broadcast Schedule And Availability

Dance Moms is telecast on Tuesday nights on the Lifetime channel. The past seasons of the show as well the latest episodes of the series are also available online through the official Lifetime website (mylifetime.com/shows/dance-moms). Due to licensing restrictions, the availability of online episodes of the show is restricted only within United States. When international viewers (including US expats and tourists located abroad) try to access Dance Moms episodes online, they just see the message – “The video you are trying to watch cannot be viewed from your current country or location”.

How Lifetime Blocks Dance Moms Online

Lifetime doesn’t allow international viewers to watch Dance Moms online since it does not have the rights to broadcast the show outside United States. The channel has tied up with several content providers to distribute its shows abroad and due to the content sharing terms agreed upon by both the parties, Lifetime cannot broadcast Dance Moms and other shows outside US.
