Undercover Boss is an American reality television show that made its debut in February’ 2010. The series is based on a British television series of the same name and was created by Stephen Lambert for the CBS channel. Undercover Boss has received a good response from the viewers and the series even won Emmy award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2012 and 2013. The popularity of the series prompted CBS to renew the show its fifth season which premiered in September’ 2013.

Undercover Boss Storyline & Plot

Each episode of Undercover Boss features a senior level executive or owner of a major company going undercover and joining his/her own company as an entry level employee. The executive assumes an alias and works in different departments and locations of the company for a week. The executive gets to know the employees and learns about the operation challenges faced by them on a day-to-day basis. At the end of the week, the executive returns to his actual identity and rewards hardworking employees while offering better working conditions to others.

Undercover Boss Availability

Undercover Boss is telecast on Friday nights on the CBS channel. For those who love to watch television shows online, the series is also available for online viewing through the CBS portal (cbs.com/shows/undercover_boss/). However, the online availability of the show is restricted to United States residents due to licensing restrictions. If US expats, frequent fliers or students studying abroad try to access the show online, they come across the message – “The video you have requested is not available for your geographic region”.

How CBS Blocks Access To Undercover Boss

CBS has tied up with several TV channels and networks to broadcast Undercover Boss outside US. Due to the content licensing agreements signed between content providers, CBS no longer holds the international broadcasting rights for the show. To implement the agreements, CBS checks the IP address of all its visitors and only allows people with a US IP address to access the show’s episodes online.

Since the location based viewing restrictions are primarily based on your IP address, you need to fake your IP in order to unlock Undercover Boss from abroad. This can be done with an IP changing service like a proxy or a VPN which can provide you IP addresses from many countries including United States. Although proxies are more popular among masses, only VPNs can deliver ultra fast speeds and unbreakable security required to unblock GEO-IP restricted streaming services.

How To Unlock Undercover Boss From Abroad With A VPN

Step 1: To get US based IP addresses, the first step is to subscribe to a reliable VPN service provider. While there are hundreds of VPN vendors in the market, we recommend subscribing to Kepard, VPN4ALL, ExpressVPN, IPVanish or BolehVPN to unblock Undercover Boss since these providers offer a fast and dependable VPN service as well as provide IP addresses from multiple US locations.

Step 2: The next step is to set up the service on the device of your choice. Download and install the custom VPN client provided by your VPN provider on your system or configure the service manually on your Smartphone or computer.

Step 3: After the setup is done, save and apply the changes and reboot the system if necessary. With regards to mobile devices, it is also essential to stop and restart the CBS app so that it uses the newly configured VPN connection to connect to the CBS site instead of the default internet connection.

Step 4: Click on the desktop icon of the VPN service or tap on the Connect button located next to the connection name on your mobile screen in order to start the service. Since the connection time is directly dependent on ISP speed and distance of the server from your location, you may need to wait for few seconds before the service connects to its default server.

Step 5: Check whether the IP address allocated to you is from US. Since most VPN companies have severs at multiple locations, it is indeed possible that the default server of your vendor may be located outside United States of America. In such cases, you need to browse through the list of available VPN servers with your vendor and use a US server located close to your current location as your VPN server in order to unlock CBS shows.

Step 6: Visit the CBS portal again through the browser or the app. Click on Undercover Boss episode titles and then on play button to unlock the latest episodes of the series. If you cannot access the videos on your mobile device, remember to close and restart the CBS app after enabling the VPN service. Congratulations, you have successfully unlocked Undercover Boss from all the countries in the world.
