American Horror Story is a horror and thriller TV series that made its debut in October, 2011. The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk for FX TV Network. American Horror Story has received a positive response from the audience (IMDB rating of 8.3) and its previous seasons have won Critics’ Choice, Golden Globe and Emmy awards. The series has been renewed for a third season which is set to broadcast from October, 2013.
American Horror Story Storyline and Plot
Each season of American Horror Story is conceived as a small miniseries with different characters and storyline and having a definite beginning, middle and end. While the first season (Murder House, set in 2011) tells the story of a family that moves into a haunted house, the second season (Asylum, set in 1964) focuses on the inhabitants of an institution dedicated for criminally insane. The third season (Coven) is set around a group of witches.
American Horror Story Availability
American Horror is telecast on Wednesday nights on the FX TV channel. The series is also available for online viewing through the official FX website. But since the FX website is available only inside United States, people would not be able to watch its latest episodes once they are out of the country. Fans of the series, including expats and travelers, will just see the Content Unavailable message – “This site is currently only available to viewers living in the United States” if they try to access the latest episodes from outside US.
How FX Blocks Access To American Horror Story
FX does not allow viewers from a different country to watch the show online since the broadcasting rights outside US are held by its partners and other content providers (most notably by Fox International Channel). To enforce these restrictions, FX checks the IP address of its visitors and only allows visitors having a valid US IP to access the show’s episodes.
In order to watch American Horror Story from a different country, you must get a US IP address from an IP changing service so that FX thinks that you are accessing the site from within US. IP changing services such as VPNs and proxies allow you to change IP and hide your real IP address from content providers with the click of a button. When it comes to speed and privacy, VPNs definitely hold an edge so they should be preferred for accessing streaming services like FX.
How To Unlock American Horror Story From Outside US With A VPN
Step 1: Subscribe to an unlimited speed and bandwidth VPN plan from a renowned VPN company. To unlock American Horror Story episodes, we recommend checking the VPN plans from proXPN, VPN4ALL, Kepard, or IPVanish since these providers deliver blazing fast speeds at very cheap rates.
Step 2: Install the VPN client provided by your VPN vendor. If your VPN provider does not offer a custom client or if you want to install the service on a mobile device, create a new connection manually and specify the connection details provided by the company.
Step 3: The next step is to save the new configuration (and restart the system if required). For mobile devices like Smartphones, you must also close and restart the official FX app after you have saved the changes.
Step 4: Establish a connection to the default VPN server by clicking on the VPN connection name or tapping on the Connect option.
Step 5: After the connection is successfully established, search for a US based server in case the default server is from outside US. Most VPN providers have servers scattered across the globe and some of them may even have their default server located outside US so you need to change your server manually. This step is usually not applicable for mobile devices (or if you created the connection on your computer manually) as you need to specify the server name at the time of creating the connection itself.
Step 6: Connect to the FX website and click on American Horror Story episode names in order to unlock them. In order to watch the episodes on your mobile screen, close and restart the FX app after you have changed your IP address. Congratulations, you should now be able to watch American Horror Story episodes from any country in the world.
