How To Setup L2TP VPN On iPhones And iPads

How To Configure L2TP VPN On iPhones And iPads

1) Before starting the setup process, close all the apps and go to the home screen. Open the Settings window by tapping on the Settings icon.


2) Once inside the Settings screen, tap the General option.


3) Next, tap on Network to view the available Network options.


Then tap on VPN to create a new VPN connection or modify an existing connection.


4) To add a new VPN connection, tap on “Add VPN Configuration”.


5) In the next screen, tap on L2TP to create a new L2TP VPN connection. Here you can also assign a name to the new VPN connection through the Description textbox. It is recommended that you use an easy to remember value for the connection name so that you can locate and connect to it quickly. For instance, if you want to connect to London based server of SampleVPNSite company then you can name the connection as SampleVPNSite-London.

Next, enter the VPN server IP address or the URL in the Server text box. If your VPN provider has VPN servers at multiple locations then you can either create multiple VPN connections or create one VPN connection and change the server URL every time you wish to connect to a different VPN server.

Type the Username, Password and secret key values provided by your VPN provider in the Account, Password and Secret text boxes. Set the “Send All Traffic” value to On and tap on the Save button to save the VPN settings.


6) In order to test the service, tap the ON option located next to VPN. Once the login credentials are verified, you will see a connection status message right below the VPN box. To disconnect from the VPN server, swipe the ON value to OFF.
