How To Access Your PayPal Account From Anywhere?

PayPal is one of the safest and most popular ways to send/receive money and shop online. The money transfer website acts as a financial middleman and allows users to make purchases and send money without revealing their credit card numbers or banking credentials. The service also acts as a global payment system allowing people to buy/sell services and send money to merchants and other PayPal users staying in all parts of the world. As per reliable statistics, there are almost 200 million PayPal accounts (including 15 million merchant accounts) and the service processes almost 5 billion transactions every year.
PayPal Security
Being a global financial service provider, PayPal takes the security of its users very seriously. The service is well-known for blocking suspicious transactions and restricting user accounts which are involved in such transactions. Once a PayPal account gets restricted (or limited as it is known), the user can’t use the service to shop online or to send money to another PayPal user. However, the blocked account can continue to receive money while PayPal carries out additional verification steps to verify the identity of the user. If your PayPal account gets blocked, you would be asked to contact the company directly and furnish documents related to your identity and address in order to reinstate the account.
The security measures deployed by PayPal are especially problematic for people who travel a lot and need to use their PayPal accounts from abroad. Since PayPal logs IP address and location of all the users, people who log into their accounts from a different country may not be able to send or withdraw money. However, there are certain options available that allow you to use your PayPal account from anywhere without facing suspensions or account limiting.
1) Use Travel Notifications – PayPal has a built-in system that allows users to notify the company regarding their travel plans. The “Travel Plan” option is available within account settings and allows users to input their destination and travel dates. Using this option before travelling is highly recommended since it would prevent unnecessary account suspensions or restrictions.
2) Contact PayPal Support – If you don’t want to use the travel notification option (or if it is not yet available in your country), simply contact PayPal support and let them know about your travel plans. This way, the support staff can keep a tab on your logins and transactions as well as prevent automated limiting of your account.
3) Use a VPN – Nowadays, a lot of people use VPNs to secure their online activities from surveillance, snooping and hacking. However, it is advisable to let PayPal know beforehand in case you want to use a VPN to access your PayPal account. Since most VPNs allot shared IPs to their users, PayPal may block a particular VPN IP if hundreds of people log into their accounts from the same IP address or criminals use it to carry out frauds. Using a VPN would allow you to maintain the same IP address to log into your PayPal account regardless of your actual location. Some VPN service providers even offer dedicated IP addresses and they are perfect for customers who travel a lot and need to use their PayPal accounts from different parts of the world. In addition, I would also advise you to opt for 2-Factor authentication offered by PayPal in order to maintain your account security.
